Registrar Transfer
You can transfer the registration of your existing domain name to OpenSRS/Tucows
(or to us from another OpenSRS/Tucows reseller)
for only $15.00, which includes one year added to the existing registration term.
For a successful registrar transfer, please be aware of the following:
You must be able to receive email addressed to the current administrative contact, as listed
in the current registrar's whois database. To check the current registration, use our
whois service. If the currently listed email address is
incorrect, you will have to get it fixed at the current registrar. During the transfer process,
the administrative contact will receive authorization instructions by email. Failure to follow these
instructions will cause the transfer to fail.
The registrar transfer process normally takes between 3 and 10 days to complete. Normal operation
of the domain name will not be interrupted. The name servers listed in the current registration will not
change (you will be able to change these after the transfer is complete if you wish).
Your domain name must have been registered for at least 60 days at the current registrar before
a registrar transfer is possible.
If your domain name is expired, or is on hold for some reason, the existing registrar may prevent
the transfer from completing.
The current registrars may require you to authorize the transfer away from them. If you receive a
confirmation request from the current registrar, be sure to read it carefully, and follow the instructions
for confirming the transfer.

If you have a number of domain names you would like to transfer in one batch,
you don't have to enter them one at a time. Use our
bulk transfer form instead.
